About our Department

The Department of Information Technology was started in the year 2006.This department is committed to contribute significantly to Information Technology and continues to grow professionally with expertise and knowledge to compete with international levels of excellence. The effulgent students are trained to become eminent engineers and entrepreneurs with greater potentials on par with international standard. They have presented some technical papers to international and national level conferences and seminars. In plant training in companies and industrial visits are mandatory.

Laboratories :
There are three well-furnished computer centers and one hardware lab with high-configured Systems around 210. Individual Systems for the Students. One Mbps leased line with Uninterrupted Internet Facility for both staff and students. The students are utilized the computer for their practical classes and also spent extra time for their projects.

All the computers in the campus are connected with the optical Fiber cable network to provide intranet facility.
Our intranet network consist of Acer altos high end server with Intel Xeon processor with Focus ERP software and 60 nos of Pentium IV system.

Peripherals included in our intranet network are printers including  laser printers and  dot matrix printers,  scanners, CD writers, Combo Drives, head phones,  web cameras, TV tuner cards, Digital Cameras and pen drives.

Student Activities

                 * Industrial visits are arranged to enrich the practical knowledge of the students.
                 * In-plant training in various industries is mandatory to enhance workmanship.
                 * Industrial training is given to the staff to explore the practical applications.

Value added short-term training courses are given to the students to enhance their technical knowledge in the current trends.

Computer Literacy Center is functioning in our department serves the community through training programmes.
Apart from the curriculum, our students are shining well in other fields such as Athletics, Indoor events, Cultural, Quiz, Essay & Elocution Competitions, etc by participating and winning prizes in the competitions organised by various institutions and organisations.
Association meetings are organised twice in a month to develop the overall skills of the students. Paper presentations, Quiz programmes, debates etc are conducted for the students.
